  • The Advisory Board Chair and the Secretary will set the agenda.
  • Any agenda items should be submitted no later than 15 days prior to the convention.
  • Delegates will not be asked to prepare written State of the Trade reports, but should be prepared to give a brief verbal report of their local's activities in the past year.
  • Hotel information was sent out several months ago. At this time rooms are no longer available at the convention rate. You may still book a room at their standard rate.
LABOR ACTION AND EDUCATION DAY 9:00a-4:00p, June 25th
This day is open to all District Executive Board members. (Locals may invite additional members.) The training days have become the highlight of our conventions. It gives us a chance not only to participate in the training, but to engage with members of locals in our area in an informal setting. The district does not provide a per diem for non-delegates, but a local can apply for transportation assistance for additional members. Contact the Secretary for more information.

The day will consist of two training presentations.
  • Strategic Training and Readiness (STAR) for Local Union Leadership presented by the IATSE Education and Training Department
  • Messaging and Media presented by Labor Education and Research Center (UO)
Pres. Loeb is scheduled to speak to the membership early afternoon.

The District will provide light breakfast options as well as lunch. Beverages and snacks will also be available.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
  • Women's Committee

The International is urging the districts to follow their lead and establish a Women's Committee. This year those interested will have a lunch prior to the convention. Details to follow.

  • PAC function

The Portland Locals are planning a PAC fundraiser to follow the LEAD training on Saturday. Plan to stick around for the fun. Details to follow.
